Participate in Worship!

Please accept our warm welcome and join us in worship every Sunday at 10 am.

Worship at Orinda Community Church is facilitated and supported by a number of special purpose groups in addition to the congregation’s musical and performance ensembles. We invite you to participate in whatever way you would like.

The Acolythes

The Acolytes are trained young people in grades 4 and older who assist in the Sunday service by lighting the altar candles, ringing the bells (including the historic steeple bell) and participating in processional activities.

Communion Servers

Any member of the congregation may assist in serving communion on the first Sunday of each month. The Worship and Music Commission coordinate Communion teams from a pool of volunteers.

Flower Ministry

The Flower Ministry is a group of volunteers who coordinate the sign-up calendar for providing altar flowers. The Ministry also works in conjunction with the pastors, other worship planners, artists, designers, and musicians on seasonal decoranions for the Sanctuary.

Lay Readers and Liturgists

The Readers and Liturgists are trained lay persons who assist regularly in worship leadership.

Ushers and Greeters

Over 50 members and friends of the church serve as ushers and greeters for Sunday worship. There are 4 Regular Teams, one for each Sunday of the month. A 5th team takes care of special services and the occasional extra Sunday and also serves as substitutes. Newcomers are always welcome.
